DART

Dynamically Adaptive Response Technology (DART) is a SpeechCycle patent-pending technique for more elegantly recovering from low confidence recognition in Natural Language Speech Applications. DART is able to confirm back to callers what appears to be understanding of at least some of what a caller is trying to convey. For example:

Without DART – “order PPV” [Low confidence] reprompt – “What can I help you with?”

With DART – “order PPV” [Low confidence] reprompt – “I understand you would like to place and order, would you like to order PPV or On-demand?”

Note that the NLU application did not previously traverse a dialog that included “ordering” as would have been likely in a directed dialog application.
